Pristine, soft, crisply white
rustling with each turn at night
those lucky sheets on which you land
sighing slumbrous for your man sand
embracing duvet, cushioning pillow
wish I was there, nestled also.
We remember as we see it
clear as cloudless sky
heart’s beloved memory
living on in you and I
Life would be so easy
if I could give my love to you
you always want to please me
it’s naturally what you do
four mirrored walls enclose us
six and a half feet across
cables an inch in diameter
shudder and pull against the drop
They say at some point feelings die
relationships get old
and I have never questioned why
believed what I was told
so my expectations lessened
just waiting for the worst
but I know now this ancient wisdom
must take a refresher course
months, weeks, days, hours
culminate in languid showers
white and soft, cold and hot
tingled tangled cotton cloth
